In the summer of 1483 people embarked on a voyage to find new land. They sailed west, but one day a storm hit them hard and almost destroyed their ship. Being close to the shore, most of them survived, but their ship was wrecked, so they had no chance to return home.
No one knows exactly where they landed, but they know for sure these plains are somehow magical. The woods are thick and mysterious creatures like faeries, leprechauns, unicorns dwell here. Everywhere there are ruins of a great civilization, most of the buildings being buried underneath the ground or covered by the forests.
Quickly, people started to notice that they're not safe here. Some were kidnapped by the creatures of the forest; some just started wondering and never came back. Soon, they decided to build a settlement so they can protect themselves from harm. They decided to call their settlement Refalo while the shores, woods and mountains nearby they called Lathar.
Because people are used to trade goods and services for gold, those who were experienced in combat started to train others in exchange for gold. Others that found goods by scavenging the shipwreck built shops to sell and aid others in need. Surprisingly there was order between these people, mostly because those with power imposed their home law here too.
The orcs came to these realms the same way the humans did, by ship. If
the purpose of the human voyage was to colonize distant land, the orcs were transporting prisoners to an isolated prison. Unfortunately a similar storm hit them too and forced them to land here while their ship was almost completely destroyed.
As soon as anyone reached the shore, they started to run and hide. This is mostly the reason why orcs have scattered themselves all along the Kronk Shores. They did manage to build a settlement so they can get protection from all the creatures that wondered these realms.
With the help of goblin technology, the ogres and trolls have used the goblin zeppelins to transport enslaved hobbits. The ogres and trolls traveled with these flying machines to the hobbit home lands to kidnap and enslave these little creatures. This was considered a good business, since hobbits were very valued for their skill in cooking, cleaning and hard labor.
One day 3 zeppelins were struck by a terrible storm which quickly sent them to the ground. Most of them survived, but once they landed and saw that they obviously aren't home or anywhere they know of, the ogres retreated to west, to the marshes called Durarg, while the trolls traveled east to the Hiri'Khar Woods. The hobbits stayed there and retreated to the mushroom forests of Peroppi Burrows.
The elves are the first creatures to arrive on the plains of Degony. They live now in the Alserah Realms, where the woods are thick and tall and
faeries wonder everywhere.
To gain immortality, elves travel through a gateway to reach the lands of infinite souls. Something went wrong and instead they ended up here.
The dwarves and goblins are creatures that love to dig and find treasures buried deep in the ground. They are also greedy and never know when to stop digging. A couple of vortexes of unnatural power opened deep inside their caves and trapped a lot of dwarves and goblins. They soon found out that they no longer recognize the caves and once they went outside, the world seemed completely changed.
Dwarves have settled in the Grel Mountains and while some of them remained in the caves, others have taken a breath of fresh air and wondered the frozen cliffs of these wondrous realms. The goblins pushed east to the Vaark Mountains where they found tombs filled with treasures, but also undead creatures.
