You first choose your starting profession, for example Wildcat. Once you reach level 20, you can go to a trainer NPC to advance to a superior profession that will teach you new skills. At level 40 you advance further to the final profession. Example: start as a Wildcat, advance to Knight at level 20 and finally become a Paladin at level 40.

For now, because the NPCs and towns are implemented you can only stay as Wildcat and you can't choose other professions to start with. This will soon be changed. Some examples of professions:

• Human -> Wildcat -> Knight -> Paladin
• Human -> Wildcat -> Warrior -> Warlord
• Human -> Scout -> Rogue -> Assassin
• Human -> Scout -> Archer -> Sharpshooter

Each race will have its own set of professions. Humans are very good at melee and ranged fighting, but they don't know any magic. Orcs are good at fighting multiple enemies at a time and have basic magic skills too. Elves are skilled archers and elite magic casters. Hobbits are great rogues and basic magic casters.
